Where the hell did that time go? January is supposed to be the longest month, right? It’s supposed to drag on foreeeeeever. It did last year. Well this time around mine disappeared in an instant! I needed plenty of reasons to slow down and take stock. I needed new music to get lost with. And there was plenty of that on this month’s mixtape. There was punk rock from California, folk-pop from far-flung Canada, and a very early album-of-the-year contender from one of my favourite ever UK bands.
