Listen to OMNI OF HALOS
Henrik Hjelt Röstberg hadn’t written any music for 20 years. The former Division of Laura Lee man had left rock and roll behind. But then came inspiration. And then came riffs. And while at first Röstberg worked alone, considering a solo project, then there was a band- Omni of Halos.
In Röstberg’s own words, “After I finally started, it all went out of control. I recorded some demos, shared them with former bandmates, and we soon decided to form a band and do a proper studio recording.”
Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, Omni of Halos is now a five-piece full band deal featuring former members of a million other Swedish punk rock and indie outfits. They play fuzzy, buzzing alt-rock with a couple of secret ingredients, including the vibrant slip and sliding sounds of pedal steel. You can hear some of that in the band’s first-ever release, the intense and honest single ‘You Suck’, by pressing play below.
Röstberg says, ”This song came out of an old riff that‘s been haunting me since my teens. It‘s about old experiences being in toxic relationships. The title speaks for itself”
An EP, ‘Care Free’, will follow next month via Lövely Records.
For fans of Division of Laura Lee, The Hold Steady, and Ted Leo.
