JESU has remixed a JULIEN BAKER song
I didn’t see this coming.
Julien Baker has enlisted, of all people, Justin Broadrick for a remix.
Under the guise of his Jesu project, Broadrick has turned his attention to ‘Favor’, originally released on Baker’s third album, ‘Little Oblivions’, earlier this year.
There’s actually a whole EP of remixes coming out early next month but Broadrick’s effort, which slathers dense, melancholy guitars throughout while leaving just enough room for cracks of light and draws of breath to break through, will surely be the pick of the bunch. It’s recognisably Jesu, but also different somehow, somehow also recognisably Baker. I love it. And I now demand a whole album of collaboration between the pair.
