Ball of Light are heavy. Damn heavy. Their debut full-length, ‘Flux’, came out early last year and combines killer riffs, punk rock energy, and hardcore spit and vinegar in the fastest and most direct way possible. It’s a landslide of a record.

The Ohio outfit aren’t exclusively interested in bludgeoning power though. Ball of Light are one of those heavy bands who also sound super melodic to my weird brain, and even at their most intense they channel a bouncy, kinetic, catchy energy that’s hard not to move your head to.

The band have a new EP out this week featuring the almighty Gared from Planes Mistaken For Stars, a combo that makes a criminal amount of sense.
